Knowing people can definitely be a good thing. And just when you find yourself at a standstill, opportunities began to rush in. It amazes me every time. Special thanks to a friend/designer, I was approached with an opportunity that I didn’t really expect to come as soon as it has. It feels good to know that people appreciate what I’m doing. I started making handbags because it was something I enjoyed doing. The establishing of Shrug by Essence came a little later and I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback from people. I know that I’m still in my starting stage. I see more coming from this thing that I love and have been waiting patiently. I just want to thank everybody for the feedback/criticism. Whether it be the feedback, referrals, purchases, a showing of interest in what I’m building, it helps.

A New Way

So, lately I've been doing a lot of creating; working on new products and designs. As a creative person, I try to push any projects that I am working on by way of different avenues. Even after doing this for three years, I still feel very, very new to design and fashion. I've tried different methods for making this work and I feel like there is a lot that can still be done to let people know what Shrug by Essence is about. There are different things that work for different people who work within different industries. I have decided that a new, more innovative approach to success is calling and I am now in the process of figuring it all out. I have learned from everything that I have done thus far and I am extremely excited about what's to come from whatever it is that I come up with. To all my creatives, continue to push yourself beyond the limits you know. Sooner or later you'll find that those limits really don't exist. When you find yourself in a position similar to where I am at this very moment, keep going. Proceed with passion.

Earlier this week, I decided that it was time to turn this blog into something different. Photos are nice and videos are entertaining, but I have been through some things on my journey that has just begun, as a designer. I have had a lot of positive experiences and some that could have gone better. I think that it's important that I give the people who visit my blog a little bit of me as I do this thing that I have grown to love. I'm still posting photos and videos of different events and things that I am working on but now you can expect an entry every once in a while as well. Hopefully I can keep you interested. Hopefully my experiences can inspire/influence you in one way or another...
